I know some of the young people involved and I’ve never seen them as engaged and motivated as they were with the tall storeez crew, putting in full days, clearly enjoying the opportunity to be creative and build their skills, and staying on till late Friday afternoon after working for a solid week on the film production. The capacity of the tall storeez crew to foster the young peoples’ initiative, and leadership skills, to “lead from behind” was particularly evident. For me as a youth worker it was inspiring and encouraging.
