Parafield Gardens SA, May 2006

IMPACT & FEEDBACK: The school continued using digital media in the classroom, resulting in highly engagaing films – they even send us a DVD a few months later. Congratulations to a great program implementation!

Murrayville VIC, April 2006


PROCESS: The Hero Project worked with 3 communities and schools in Murrayville, Pinnaroo and Karoonda in the second series of workshops to train the students in digital media skills to script, storyboard, film, record sound, and create edit-in-camera films.

OUTCOMES: The team made a fun and engaging short film, shot and edited in one day! The team were interested in making fake blood and created a fun spoof of Steve Erwin’s bush antics.

Come Out Festival, February 2005

CHALLENGE: The Hero Project ran their first fast and furious master-class with a large school group from Melbourne. 30 students and their teachers had to create 4 stories and shoot their edit-in-camera films in 3 hours.

OUTCOMES: Their challenge was to compare cities – what do you like and dislike about Adelaide – and then represent this in a short film. Have you ever seen the world from out of a garbage bin ? Or been airlifted back to outer space in the middle of a major city ?…

SCREENINGS & AWARDS: Their films have been screened hundreds of times across Australia to explain edit-in-camera techniques and key elements of creative storytelling (in under 3 hours!)
